Step One
As far as I've tried, this is the only dye that has actually lightened the black dye.
It's Called "Schwarzkopf NORDIC Blonde Ultimate Lightener L1++"
Make sure you get the Ultimate lightener rather than Extreme or anything else, as this is the most powerful in the series, and is recommended for dark hair.
I used this just like a normal hair dye, read the instructions etc and left the dye on my hair for 45 minutes, massaging my head every now and then to make sure the dye was on every single strand of black hair!
When I rinsed it off in the shower and conditioned my hair, It didn't feel as dry and damaged as I expected, it seemed to be quiet fine!
But as I'd expected it to, when I dried my hair, it was now an orange color. Which actually did not bother me at all because I was so happy to be finally successful in getting my hair lighter. The only thing I had to do now was dye it to something less vibrant!

Step Two
The next step was simply to apply a dye close to my natural shade, and I'd never have to worry about regrowth again! I chose "Light Ash Brown " in shade 50 by Revlon Colorsilk because it was cheap and I know this brand doesn't fade. However whichever dye color or brand you choose is completely optional, but I highly recommend choosing an "Ash" shade to counteract the orange hair color you were left with from the Nordic dye.
My hair is now my natural color at last and I am so pleased I didn't have to spend money at the salon. In total I spent $20 USD. - Ten dollars for each box.
Hopefully I've helped others!
